![]() After a while you start learning the layout. If you don't like it then either don't die or don't play, and i don't want to sound mean, but those are your actual options.Ībout getting into the game without having nothing to work with: Imo that's the appeal of this and other souls games, you just have to figure out what to do and where to go at first, just explore the surrounding without caring much about losing currency if you die, you'll eventually find something interesting (that's not even that far from the starting spot), also the map is actually rather small but most paths look the same at first, so you need a few points of reference. When you die you lose tar (currency) and you go back to your last checkpoint, that's what happens in every souls game, but you can get back your currency if you manage to reach the spot where you died before dying again. This is definitely NOT a story driven game, yes there's lore behind it, but that's about it. If you're kind enough to give a detailed answer about why I should continue or drop it I'd appreciate it very much. I know what you're gonna say, gaming is about fun, if you're not having fun drop it, and you're absolutely right but I'm always overthinking when it comes to games and I really don't like leaving them unfinished. So what should I expect to get from the game? Is it only the atmosphere and the enjoyable fighting? Does it even get enjoyable at a later time, do I get better do you have to be super skilled? I'm really not in the mood of losing progress bacause of dying as mentioned before. I like story driven games because it's like reading a good book or watching a good movie, even better I'd say. ![]() Second thing I'm troubled about is what the game is supposed to give me. I don't like the way you get into the game, having no idea where to go or what to do, it seems overwhelming and every path seems the same to me. What bothers me is not how hard it is, but that when I die I lose most of my progress(I think that's a soulsborne characteristic, correct me if I'm wrong). I mostly like story driven games, TLOU, RDR2, The Witcher, Horizon are some of my favorite and I've always believed that soulslike games are not my kind of thing, but I recently decided to give it a try.
